Eze de Nuit
The Nocturnal Magic of Èze, Provence, France. Perhaps the most picturesque village on the Côte d’Azur, Eze is perched high atop a rocky hill—bestowing upon the observer magnificent sweeping views of the Mediterranean coastline some 1,400 feet below. Replete with castle ruins, stone streets, portals, and an assortment of lovely structures over 800 years old, a stroll through the ancient passageways of Eze "de nuit" reveals a special magic not experienced during the day. For over a millennium generations of Moors, Greeks, Turks, Italians, and French made their home in this fortified hamlet. With a little imagination one can faintly hear the echoes of past conversations and see apparitions of these bygone inhabitants within the dark shadows of the old stone buildings.
